Need some answers about a clutch for stage 3...

I will be installing my K04/16 hybrid kit in the next few weeks, and need to look at a clutch. I should be putting down a little over 400WHP. I currently have an RS4 clutch, installed it last summer. I am looking at clutchnet.com as they seem to have good prices. Anyone have experience with their clutches? I want to reuse my RS4 PP and just get a new disc. I have a Fidanza LWFW as well. Anyways, my question is, what would be my best option? Sprung/solid hub? 3 puck, 4 puck, 6 puck? Looking to get a "red" performance level clutch. Thanks for the input guys. I really need to get a new clutch, as I'm sure the K04/16's will shred the organic RS4 clutch...

I'm going to hazard a guess and say that if you drive it every day, sprung is the best one.
Also, i had a bronze 6-puck clutch and it messed up my LFW.

My suggestion would be sprung and non-metallic clutch.

Thanks, I was actually considering the 4-puck ceramic disc they make.

Re: Need some answers about a clutch for stage 3...

I had clutchnet for my old supercharged maxima. I had the red (2x) sprung hub PP + organic clutch disc. Drove like stock and it held 300whp no problem (stock is about 160whp). I went with them again for my 240sx. Bought the laser cut 2x red PP + 6-puck clutch. Looked great in the box, but I ended up selling the car before I got to install it.

Go with the sprung hub. It's better for daily and much much easier on the drivetrain. As for the pressure plate, go with the red 2x or the laser cut diaphram red 2x (custom order and will be heavier on the foot). 6-puck should be plenty for 400whp, especially if you plan on driving the thing on the street.

My clutch went out on the S4, but I went with a VAST Stage3 RS4 ceramic hybrid clutch instead. These european cars are so complicated with their self-adjusting pressure plates and dual mass flywheels. Not like the simple japanese econoboxes I'm used to.

If you do decide to go with the clutchnet, let me know how it turns out! I'm curious whether they can do clutches for Audis too.

Clutchnet is a good alternative to clutchmasters. I've heard good things about them.

My rs4 couldn't handle the old stage 3 setup.

Thanks guys. I am tempted to give the 4 puck ceramic disc a try. I should be able to re-use my RS4 PP with it. At about $150, cant go wrong I guess.
