A different kind of AMG.. (first pics)

Selling the car did not work for me.. I could not let her go (dont ask why as even I dont know)..

so instead im starting from scratch, going a different direction.. and here is the start

- dropped the car on Tein s-tech and Koni yellows (the suspension is still settling)
- threw in an Avic d-3 with custom CF face plate (in the worx)
- tied up some new shoes OEM Merc' Slk 55AMG rims
18x8 (235's) in the front with 12mm spacers, 18x9.5 (245's) in the rear

so far she only rubs in the front, so im ditching the spacers until i get the fenders pulled

All haters and comments welcome.. Oh and PS front Kerscher on its way so dont worry about the un-painted lowers

Unpainted lowers always look kinda good on the silver cars, but it'll look better with a kit too. And I'm diggin those wheels good choice, i'm usually not a fan of the AMG/Porsche wheels but those are nice.

well the rims may possibly be on sale here pretty quick. If there is any interest in them feel free to send me a PM. there is not a nick, scratch or any curbage on these rims at all.

PS- these rims were going for $2600 on Ebay with new tires (i would not ask nearly that much, its just a heads up)

my center caps were not a direct fit. but i understand that A8 W12 center caps will fit. (they are arouind 100 a piece at the stealer)

i just threw em' on. Merc' shares our 5x112 bolt pattern, but im not to sure if i need hub-centric rings? if someone else here has AMG rims and wants to inform me it would be much appreciated

I have to disagree, unpainted lowers on anything but dolphin(only cuz they blend in) take away from the lines of the car imo. On the other hand, Silver with painted lowers is one of the best looking. Interesting choice of rims. I think they will look good with your kit and painted lowers. Drops looks good too, and of course I'm jealous of you Avic.

Looks great! I second the opinion of silver pulling off the unpainted lower look. I would have to, my car is is silver with unpainted lowers, not even thinking about changing it.

thanks for the comments guys! i was acutally thinking of painting the Kerscher front to match the unpainted lowers somehow.. the winters here murder low cars with painted cladding.. rocks, salt, and heavy snow loads

Dude dont waste your money on an S65, get an S600 like mine with the full AMG Sports package, and then just chip it for $4700 and you have the power of an S65. LOL.

Im dead serious, im still debating if i should do it to mine considering the S600 has so much power already.LOL. If you chip an S600 it will get you right at 600hp and 720 lbs of torque which is basically what the S65 has.

Here is an avant with similar wheels or even the same ones which remind of your car and i bet if you paint the lowers it will look real nice.

ya its Kleemann and Matrix Integrated the local shop here in Portland are capable of doing it.

I mean the 500hp i have so far is plenty but after sometime u get too used to it and want that extra kick. lol.

here is a close up of the rim. The face is machined, however the surrounds of the blades are painted silver. I want to tape off all of the machined area and paint the surrounds either bronze, black chrome, or gunmetal..thoughts?
