Now you’re starting to get it. Everyone has their own opinion on what looks good. Don’t ask what looks better if you don't like criticism. The RS6 mesh grill with the chrome rings in my opinion looks the best.
Painting the grill to match the car looks cheap and tacky (in my opinion). It’s going to chip in 1 day of driving and start peeling. It blends in too much.
You can also go with the lltek c6 conversion.
If you want to change your grill, and make it look good it’s going to cost $$$. There is no cheap alternative.

that grill of your doesnt look polished aluminum, looks like ebay grill

i myself dont like shiny (chrome): wheels, mirrors and grills, just to tacky and rice, just not a look for audi
thats how grills should look

I like last black photo; AND silver is ok, too, but if going that path, simply needs black rings. And put 'em on trunk, too (along with debadging).

Not that I like either, but if I had to chose I would pick the second one...
Try just the rings in black.
There is just too much gre/silver IMO.
YOu are lucky as you have a 4.2 and can fit an RS6 grille... get one. It is the best and cleanest looking one.
I had added the Audi chrome inserts to my OEM grille, it looked OK but i got tired of it.
