I just became a new owner of a Moro blue S4. This is my first car I have bought with my own money. I love this car and it has been a long ride to get to this point!
Here is my story:
As I sit here now listening to Gangstar I can only remember about a month ago the S4 sat in the garage without a legal tag.
I bought it from a private seller I found on Cars.com for $24,500.00 with about 47k on it. I checked the carfax and it looked great.
I saw a little blurb about a lien being held against the car and Carfax recommended a release of lien before purchasing the car.
I didn't think much of the comment and thought it was no big deal. Boy was I ever wrong.
I took out a loan from USAA and once approved, they paid the buyout left on the seller's car. Me and the seller were prepared to exchange the car on June 27th. Keep that date in mind guys.
As I said this was my first car purchase and I was unfamiliar with the process. I knew I needed a title but I didn't know PA has electronic titles.
The bank who held the lien against the car was Chase. The seller told me his bank had confirmation they received payment and released the title to me. The seller had given me the car. So it sat.

Over the next month and a half it was a game of title chasing. I heard from PENNDOT the seller would receive the title. Chase said I would get it. USAA was in the dark.
I was getting concernicus because I thought I had somehow been ripped off. I was in constant contact with all 4 sources trying to resolve the issue.
I work at a leasing company and everyone knew I was purchasing a car. The COO of the company, a family friend felt like something was wrong. I have to say I felt the same.
We called Chase in an effort to get some information. I was told something was being sent to me. When we called they told me it was just a letter to confirm the lien was released.
This is July 20th. I thought I was royally screwed. I didn't know if the title was lost, stolen or sitting under someone's ass.
A week and a half later I picked up the mail and a letter was there from Chase. I thought nothing of it and just drove to work.
When I reached work I opened the letter and the title was inside!

All in all I finally have the car and I love it! It is one of the most comfortable cars I have ever driven in. So now for your viewing pleasure, my moro blue car:
