Re: People In NJ please keep your eyes open for this stolen bike

I'll post up on tristatesportbikes for u, since most of their members are in north jersey. I'll keep an eye out when i'm in the sussex area. YOu should check craigslist and e-bay often. SOme of these thieves are dumb. I warn u this, if you had full coverage on it, you don't want it back. DOn't raise a ruckus, don't have people look for it. It's been abused by someone you don't know, there may be hidden damage that when you find 3 months down the road insurance won't cover. Any distinguishing characteristics of the bike, cause it looks like a stock 848.

Those assholes stole a minivan this morning and put the bike in it and left everything that was in the car in the garage... detectives alredy took fingerprints and what not

That's a shame, the 848 is sex on wheels. I'll keep an eye out on the CT/MA forums and listings.

    thank you guys.

I live right behind the High School, I actually bought my place in Fort lee because I always heard it was a very nice and quiet place and nothing ever happened but according to the police in the past 2 weeks there have been multiple bikes and cars stolen. They take vans so that they can take the bikes in them

I used to work right up the block in the Mellon bldg. I wonder if the scum are from NY as they can quickly hop right back on the bridge from either the palisades or main approach. You should give the PA a call, they might have video if you can pinpoint the time and make of the getaway van.

Re: People In NJ please keep your eyes open for this stolen bike

well the van was also stolen in Fort lee, the owner came to pick up the seats, his kids bike and some stuff that they dropped to get the bike in. His car was stolen after 1am and the bike was stolen before 5am.. 1am he parked his car, 5am one of my neighbors got home and saw the seats. we (the owners of the condos) are trying to get the management company to install cameras in the driveway, hopefully now they will do it.

Good Idea, since we know what type of car it is maybe PA could search.. but fat chance.. you could see how much interest the police had

Very common. My police officer friend was tracking a stolen bike via Low-Jack and tracked it to a minivan parked on a side street in Union County. Low and behold, the bike was inside that van. This was a few months ago.

I know exactly where you live cause I live nearby on Linwood. It is a quiet neighborhood but it is so close to all major highways and right next to the bridge. If they crossed the bridge or got on the turnpike and were dumb enough, they would have used the e-z pass from the van if it had one.

Dude, that sux. But unfortunantly and I hate to say it, unless the theft was caught on tape, you will never know who took it and you'll probably never see the bike again. They'll change the VIN Plate and sell it privately.

the sad part is, what can the police do? Stolen bikes are low on their priority list. They have to many donut shops to frequent. LOL. But seriously, the police, at least around here, could give 2 shits abouts bikes. Especially sport bikes.

well talking from experience they seem to not have any priorities other than trying to pick up chicks "my girl" eating donuts "we all know" and harrasing kids driving nice cars "most of us know"
My gf's apartment was broken into and they emptied the place when the cops came, they actually asked her if she wanted them to look for fingerprints ???? I was like wtf is not that somthing that you are suppose to do..

It's not like Ft. Lee is a hotbed of murders and rapes. What major crimes has their plates full? All I ever saw them do is patrol the Food Emporium parking lot busting the HS kids chops. Your taxes are paying their salary, you might want to hit up your community/county leaders and complain.

Sorry for your loss, I know how it feels :(

Just throwing this out there, but I do security systems. If you ever need cameras or an alarm just shoot me a PM.

Also on your next bike, try installing an alarm!! You can get one with a pager too so if someone moves it, the pager goes off.

Good luck!! I hope those pricks get caught!

Re: People In NJ please keep your eyes open for this stolen bike

Sorry to hear about your bike. I remember when my R6 got stolen. The one night I was too tired to lock it down and move a few cars to put it in the back was the night it was stolen. I parked it on the side of my grandparents house and next morning it was gone. I prayed that entire morning that my uncle just took it for a ride but of course I was avoiding the reality of it being stolen. But look at it this way everything happens for a reason. That summer I lost two friends to bike accidents. So count your blessings everything happens for a reason. But trust me when I say I hate thieves. The guy that stole my boys bike died on it trying to outrun the cops. WTF @ people stealing anything!

^^ true, I am a bit crazy and have fallen many times, I started riding when I was 13, had a big accident and had to have surgery on both my knees so I stoped until recently when I got this bike. Now I know that I need to respect bikes and power.

Those a//holes that steal people's properties deserve to die.. good for your boy, at least he got some type of justice (divine justice is a bitch)

Yo, wtf. On tristatesportbikes, the forum i posted for you we have maybe 150-250 regular posters. 3 of their bikes just got stolen between Tuesdays and today, with another attempted. Anyone got a chromed busa, or a glock 9. Bait bike anyone? :) My Tl has a silent paging alarm so I can't wait for the bastard who tried to steal it.
