Would putting s4 pss9's on my a4 avant be a bad idea?
I know they are different spring rats but would it effect the drivability? It would most likely be stiffer spring rate correct?
    thanks all

nothing wrong with it, I am running s4 coils on my car with no problem. Go for it...

all you need to do is play around with the settings a bit more, because the s4 engine is heavier so adjusting to your comfort might be a bit difficult but not hard to do.

If you are getting a smoking deal on the coils, then go for it else just get the coils meant for your car. Overall, it will be a direct fit and you will have no problems with install.

I like the S4 PSS9 coilovers on the A4 much better then their A4 versions on it. The valving on the S4 ones is just barely enough to get rid of the front end float.

    cheers! mike

I have the S4 PSS9s as well, and am definitely very pleased. Set to 5 all the way around, the handling improvement has been dramatic and the ride comfort penalty is not too bad. Over the wide type of speed bumps it actually has less float/"aftershock" than the stock sport suspension. Many times bumps are more noticeable now, but the resulting jounce is much more well-controlled with the S4 coilovers. No problem whatsoever!
