k one side of me wants to ko4 this bitch. but im runnin on a stock clutch with upgraded vr6 flywheel. will my clucth expolde on my first launch lol? also im gonna need a short shifter and fmic..

or.. should i just go with the giac chip. basically its my daily driver so i dont want it to fall apart. so im thinkin chip, exhaust, fmic, short shifter and ill be happy..... i think?

your asking the question to yourself. How much power do you want. and how many mods you want for more power. k04 is direct bolt on but with mods and tuning can produce more power. search.

Opinion on what? K04 is about as reliable as they come. But you will probably want a new clutch. Hell you'll probably want a new clutch anyways. If you really want to enjoy your driving experience, get suspension before anything else. I have yet to be chipped and enjoy driving my car every day.

What? Where are you getting this info? A shortshifter has no correlation with how much psi you're pushing. And you'll be pushing 18psi on a chipped k03 as well, fyi.

Like fikes said, it really depends on how much you are willing to spend. I daily drive my T28 car but i have spent $$ on it. Just a chip will cost you like $500, but if you want k04, your looking to spend close to $1500 on top of that depending on where you get your parts. Your stock clutch should do fine.

What I would do is just save up until you decide 100% what you want and get it all at once.

Idk, while the car's out of commission, I'd highly recommend swapping out that OEM clutch...

I have a $4K K04 kit, soon to be $5k+. All in engine mods. Its not cheap but I literally have everything. Also read my sig...the small writing. I can't tell you how or when but it will be documented once its done. I am a college student so baby steps as far as money goes.

But my main point is that having a reliable setup is not cheap. You can always cut corners but it will cost you more in the end.

it all depends on how much more power you want.....i hated my car stock...no balls at all, k04 and chip will give you around 190 whp is that enough for u, only you can answer that.....if you are not planning on upgrading your turbo don't bother with a FMIC, because if anything you will loose power....

what year is your car anyway? if you've got an 01' don't waste your money on a k04... unless your current turbo is dying or has a lot of miles on it.

also, i wouldn't even trust a k03 and chip with a stock clutch. definitely get it upgraded if you can.. or don't launch it.

I'm running my car chipped for 9+ years on the stock clutch. It can be done and I don't drive mellow all the time either.

not sure for how long you have had your car for, but as you are starting to find out nothing is cheap for Audi, specially when it comes to performance parts....expensive but great quality....no ricers where you can get a full turbo kit installed for $1000
