    Just got APR exhaust installed

Hey boys i just got the APR cat back system installed on my 2000 a4 1.8t tip and it sounds great, no drone on the hwy and i got my low-end torque back(coming from a 2.5 custom dp back), plus i hear my dv under 0psi and this thing just pulls like superman playing tug of war, anyways the only problem was the install, of course the dp wouldn't fit because im not manual, but they managed to fit it, now the problem i seem to be having is that the flex pipe off the dp is touching my tranny just a little sort of hold tranny up slightly on its corner. Now i feel like i have cleaner shifts i guess from the flex pipe holding it.

Will this touching cause any unwanted damage to tranny or flex pipe?

And wat is this smell all of a sudden?

Re: Just got APR exhaust installed

Flex pipes are usually first to go on exhausts since they always flex around and relieve stress in the exhaust piping. It could possibly fail sooner as the trannie is putting more stress on it and not vice versa.

The smell is probably oils burning off the exhaust and will go away soon. Run it hard for a bit to clear it up.

I've never heard that when talking about a k03 and an auto tranny

I wouldn't worry about the smell unless it gets worse or is still around in a week or two.
