    The general consensus is 0W-40 or 5W-40 seasonally.
    1997 a4 1.8tqm. apr 91, 100 octane. h&r sport. bilstein sport. ecodes. 18" s4 avus reps.

    I would go with 5W-40, Royal Purple works good IMO. 0w-40 in winter...

    Anything from this list is good to go with. And you could also go with Elf, Motul, Redline, Royal Pruple, etc. I am currently running Royal Purple 5w30. I will use Elf 5w40 next time around.

    I run Pennzoil 10W-30 on a built motor, I change it pretty often though, usually max 2,000 miles, syn. is to expensive to change that often : )

    Where do you find M1 5w-40 all I can find for mobile is 5w-30, and is the 5w-40 the truck and SUV one?

    5W30 year round.... 4 years no problems.
    APR 93 Octane Chip, VDO Boost Gauge, 710N, Koni C/O's, Carbonio CAI, High Flow Coconut air freshener.

    60% of the time, it works EVERY time.

    0w-40 mobil 1 7-8k mi changes--no sludge
    my old A4 1.8t---226k hard redlined miles -8000 mi oil changes. Chipped for 150,000 miles. Still going.
