Alright so i went to the dealer yesterday and bought some brillant black touch up paint for my car since my bumper looks like the surface of mars . i was jsut wondering anything special i need to do? they gave me two tubes, one is the paint the second is the clear coat. Now can i just go a head and touch up all my chips? I have heard people say that they sand the spots before they touch them up but concidering they are all jsut rock chips i cant really get in there and sand them. Also there may be a tad of wax in the chips beucase a ton of them are white (waxed car 2ish weeks ago)

    Thanks

    Re: Audi touch-up Paint

what i usally do is get some 3m adhesive cleaner (part number 08984) and clean old wax and other grime off. Than put the first layer of paint on, let it dry and put another layer on until it is flush with the surface of the paint. than put the clear on. if it has a whole bunch of chips in it, you might just be better off getting it re-painted.

I just got regular old black touch up paint from Kragen for my rear bumper. (Or Autozone, whatever you guys have.) Black is pretty much black. I never clearcoated, just made sure the surface was clean and added the paint. Not perfect, but looks better than white chips.

I just purchased some Artic White for my A3 today from the dealership, and am going to give it a try tonight. I have some nasty rock chips in my lower lip, kinda need sanded down flat again. Post before and after pics!
