    A/C power loss/gas mileage question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a couple of questions on using A/C. If it's hot outside, I put it to "LO". I'll most likely keep it on LO until recently. I'll gradually increase the temp while remaining comfortable.

So the question is, does it help gas mileage at all by increasing the temp? Is the A/C system being used less, saving gas?

In the same way, does it also rob less power? When my A/C is on, I feel bogged down. Does the A/C rob more power on LO compared to say 70 on the left and right?

    I have a 3.0l if that matters.

    Thanks.

The AC will rob power regardless of the temp setting, as long as its on.
Try driving a 1.8T with the AC on if you think you're having issues!

    for most vechiles,

in city with AC on will consume up to 10% more fuel.

in highway it doesnt make that much difference.
