    Opinions: price for 2005 USP

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I'm sealing the deal for a 2005 USP, certified pre-owned (is this even worth it? I'm thinking it adds some peace of mind) for $21K from a dealer.

Mileage is 45K and it still has 6 months of original warranty left.

It's got all the packages except for navigation and looks to be in excellent condition. I'll probably want to add a GIAC chip to boost the power...

    What do you guys think?

    TIA!

    3.0 or 1.8T? I got my 3.0 w/ about 46k miles for $22k about 9 months ago

I'd try to talk him down a little more considering there are B7's in that price range

Re: Opinions: price for 2005 USP

Yes exactly; the story is that I'm looking for a loaded USP rather than a base A4 (B7 model). The comparative model for me would be a 2006 A4 S-line which are usually $25K and up.

Please let me know thoughts, comments, etc.

    Thanks!

This is a 1.8T with a manual. I found some 3.0s but I'd like to keep the good gas mileage of the 1.8T (considering the $ for gas these days :-) and chip it to get the higher output power.

    Thanks!

Try to talk him down a bit... I bought mine almost 2 years ago for $22k. Also remember that B8's are around the corner and that will kill B6 resale value...

BTW - what color is it? Quattro?

white or yellow and you shouldn't be wasting anymore time thinking about it!

White A4 USPs are pure sex!

can you get a non quattro USP?

I would also try and talk them down a little bit more.. you could probably get it for around 19 and change if you work at it. Make sure you argue your interest rate, too!

Re: Opinions: price for 2005 USP

That seems high to me. I just bought an 05 USP Avant 1.8T Tip Dolphin Grey with 30K miles back in May for $19K. Granted it was not CPO, but not a big deal to me. I've been spending this summer making sure things are fixed before my warranty runs out in September--due to 4 years, I'll still be well under 40K at that point...

It is Quattro (aren't all of them supposed to be Quattro?)...

Also the color is silver -- quick question, is there a silver and a light silver metallic for 2005 Audi A4s? I don't know which is which...

I would have loved the dark silver (dolphin gray?); those cars just look amazing.

Pricing wise, I haven't been able to find anything lower than $21K from dealers, unless sacrificing for a lot more miles or no extended warranty/etc.

    Thanks!

Yeah that's wonderful, your car is exactly what I was looking for except for manual instead of Tip.

But dolphin gray with black interior and all the options (+/- navigation, it doesn't matter since not a lot of them have nav - except for maybe some of the 3.0) would have been my dream.

    This one is light silver.

I'm also under some pressure since my previous lease (BMW) has run out and I have to return the car this weekend and I need a car to commute to work...

I have an 04.5 and it has everything except navigation. It was priced close to 40K. Some dealers I went to had them selling for 40K, markup is a bitch and people would buy it because they made it seem like it was a step above the A4 but lower than an S4. I know that's how they tried to sell me, didn;t work cuz I knew what I was looking for.

i paid $38k for my avant loaded. It was one of a few new ones left and had to be shipped in. Course, i didn't have to pay taxes so that helped.

Looks pretty nice! I can see that it has bi-xenon, and its quattro. You should buy it, it'll be a great car.

congrats!!.. $21k CPO'ed isnt bad.. may have been able to do a little better, but ...

i just picked up a loaded '05 USP Avant 1.8T 6spd (except - nav and tip) for $17 with 53k.. but it had the 17" B6 sport wheels and has some scraped up paint here and there..

it had the original sticker in it and said $38k..

but most avants i saw were ~low 20's (but avants are a little more)..

    enjoy!

Re: Opinions: price for 2005 USP

Yeah going forward I am looking to see how maintenance is on this car, does anybody have some figures on the costs at 55K, 65K, 75K miles? I think those were the service intervals in my manual...

Also, say one does the service himself/herself -- is it even possible, or will the car throw 'service' computer codes/etc.?

    Thanks!

Re: Opinions: price for 2005 USP

To answer a few of the questions asked, USP cars did come Frontrak, not all are Quattro. The TIP comparisons a few of you posted, resale of the TIP cars is typically a few thousand LESS than manual cars.

My 04' 1.8T Frontrak USP sticker was 33,800, no nav or lighting package
