    Question about Greddy Turbo Timers

When you remove the key from the ingition, are you able to still lock your car via remote? Or do you have to wait for the car to turn off or use the manual lock?

When I had my turbo timer first installed, my ECU was playing games with me. At first, the car locks would not work (inside button lock) at all due to the central locking system. After that got fixed, then the windows would not work but now the doors would lock. And I was able to lock the car with the remote while the car was still running (windows still not working at this time). But after that (windows locked) got fixed, the windows and lock inside the car via the button by the handle functioned properlly, but now I always have to wait for the car to turn off before I can use the remote to lock my car. Is that normal?

I talked to my mechanic and he said that is how it is supposed to work. That Audis and VWs have a safety feature of not locking the car via remote while car is still running. But it was working when the windows were non functioning. Yet I was still able to use the remote to lock the car while it was still running, before the windows staying locked got fixed. Thanks!

With my Greddy III TT I have, I can still lock the car from outside, but only by manually putting the key in the door and locking it that way.

    I have a 2000 1.8T

I know. I usually just sit in my car for maybe 2 min after each ride, but sometimes it just gets annoying.

no, you don't even need to do that. the longest i spend in my car after driving it is 15 seconds. if i've been driving it hard.

all you have to do is stay out of boost for the last couple minutes of your drive. the air circulating around the turbo while the car is moving will cool the turbo down much faster than if you are just parked.

Re: Question about Greddy Turbo Timers

I'm rockin the latest version of the GReddy FATT. I don't have it hooked up to my VSS, so sometimes it works 100% and other times it just defaults to my normal setting.

I have to manually lock my doors while the car is idling. Maybe it can be wired up a little differently, but I'm not worried about it. This way I know that if my remote dies, my door lock cylinder isn't bound up if I need to use it.

My daily commute is on the highway, both work and home aren't too far off the highway, so it's nice to have.
My default is set to 1:30 and I've had it go up to 23 mins before after a severe beating on the highway.
