I had an alignment done and they said my tierods were frozen?

What's the deal with that? I know, I could have asked them, but I didn't. Anyway, i did a search and found nothing, so does anyone here know about this? Thanks in advance.

They are saying the adjustment bolts are frozen(due to corrosion), they couldnt break them loose. Id check them and make sure they didnt round them off, if so....they are buying you new ones. Your actuall tierods arent frozen just the bolts that allow you to make adjustments.

yeah i've had this happen on an 02 b6 a4. they had to "cut" them off and throw new ones in. i spose that doesn't help ya much tho.

Nah, that helps as they were able to "unfreeze" them and perform the alignment. I was just wondering after the fact. Thanks for all the replies, and now I know, and knowing is half the battle, according to Captain Planet. (And yes, I just semi-quoted Captain Planet, worst cartoon evar!)
