1 - I need an oil pan, and I need it ASAP... the one I ended up with is for a B5 (no place to mount the snub bracket), and the backup I had in line is also the wrong part #.

if you have one off a B6, with the P# 06B 103 603A - PLEASE let me know.

2 - (the content which this thread is mostly about)... has anybody who upgraded their front brakes thought about putting their old fronts on the rear as a sort of... OEM rear "BBK"? (and i do use that term VERY loosely)

I know that sounds about 99% retarded... but the thought had never really crossed my mind, and I wasn't sure if there was a good reason why it was either A) not possible or B) an absolutely terrible idea.

just thought i'd throw that out there - lmk what you guys think

You might have something with the brake idea. As long as you don't mind leaving the car in gear due to lack of an ebrake. For the BBK guys that could be a very cool way to upgrade the rear as well.

It won't pass a safety inspection if your state requires that. IMO, Its unsafe.

hmmm i'll check into that carrier thing, and i'll see what my ebrake options are as far as retaining it goes... I'm fairly clever when i've got some caffeine and beer in me, maybe i'll come up with something hahaha.

also - Doug, I PM'd you. bump for any other offers/ideas on oil pans in the meantime.

Hmmmm....I'll be installing suspensiong thise weekend, It wouldnt take but 5minutes to see if my old front calipers line up.....plus theres no hills in the Low Country

Edit....Just though of something.....Arent the rear brake lines different than what the front calipers take? Dont the rear brakes require a banjo bolt?

Have you thought about how small the rear bolts are and how much more spaced together than the rears, if you get a CNCd piece I'm sure thatd be nice

Sorry Daniel. I just got home and didn't see your note until now. Sent you a PM with some options (that you probably already know).

yeah, that's the kind of "why it wouldnt work" thing I was referring to.. I'll take a look at it sometime in the near future and see just how impossible it is. hopefully it turns out to be easy? (yeah right hahaha)
