what's the best way to go badgeless?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I want to make the rear naked lol. I need to know what the easiest way is to take off the badges without taking off any paint or anything. I heard something about using dental floss works good, but can anyone confirm this? Or is there a better way?

cool so i just went outside and did it. Figured it was easy enough so why not. Worked like a charm and now i am badgeless While i was at it i also took the liberty to do the same to my girlfriend's white RSX. Took off everything but the center "A". Looks much better. Thanks for the link.

It will strip your wax, though...so you'll need to re-wax the area of badge removal.

Re: what's the best way to go badgeless?

i didn't even use WD-40 or rubbing alcohol. The adhesive was just slippery if i did that. So i just heated it up as i used these soft shop gloves with little rubber grippy knubs on them to remove it. Got all the gunk off completely and then i just washed the spot and it's clean, no scratches, and no sticky residue is left.

But for wizzla... i'm actually gonna be putting my rings back on. I only took them off so i could make them black. I'm gonna just leave the rear empty until then though. I'm in the process of doing my girlfriend's front "A" badge white so i'm gonna just do mine while i do her badge.

Re: what's the best way to go badgeless?

^^ yikes... that's gotta hurt. Yeah it was simple. Just used everything in the DIY and it worked. And actually i didn't have any fishing wire, which i thought seemed like it would be a little coarse anyway, so i found a piece of really thin braided rope that was about as thick as dental tape and that worked really well.

Hey B6 Quattro, if you happen to remove the Quattro up in the grille, let me know, I want to replace mine since mine got chipped. That's open to anyone else, BTW.

Re: what's the best way to go badgeless?

My opinion on that is remove everything but the rings, Pressure washer works really weel to remove badges and it's cool if its very hot in your area!!! Try it you'll understand!

Re: what's the best way to go badgeless?

i would think a pressure washer would damage the paint or something. That's definitely not something i would try unless i saw it done already. I'm stickin with the way i just did it. Blow dryer and something thin to slide beneath it.

Re: what's the best way to go badgeless?

I just did mine about 30min ago. I'll post some pics up too. I just parked it in the sun, got some fishing line, and used GooGone in the end to clean up. Lastly I hit it with the clay bar for a few sec. Looks great. Super easy mod.
And I left the quattro badge on.
