Anyone pick up a brand new R8 recently? If so, how many "Delivery Miles" were on the car?

Re: Delivery miles on an R8

The new cars we see coming in have anywhere from 9 to 50 miles on them. Not too many go around the block more than 3-4 times before they are sold.

Re: Delivery miles on an R8

The car that I ordered came with over 100 miles. The dealer stated that Audi does extensive break ins with the R8. I just wondered if there was any truth to that.

R8's are hand built and they are much more extensively demo'd in Germany before being shipped. Higher mileage is normal

They have to have at least some miles because they do testing on these before they leave the country. Then they get a good cleaning and put the suspension blocks in before its wrapped for shipment

When I picked up mine it has 120km on it and the dealer handed me a form to sign which basically is an idenmity saying that I understand why the delivery miles are so high as the car has been put through its pace at the factory.

Re: Delivery miles on an R8

    Interesting thread.

It makes me wonder just how many miles the previous owner actually put on mine. When I picked it up from the Audi dealer in Houston, it had 168 on the odometer.

Used with 168 - hard to beat that even with a big stick! (too bad I didn't pay a "used" price... Oh well, it's been worth every penny to me.)
I had something to put here, but unfortunately misplaced it...

Re: Delivery miles on an R8

typically before "testing" an R8 or RS4 a deposit is required. So, a 100 miles or so on it, ain't a big deal. THOUGH, for $150,000, I'd want less than 50.
