Every car is different and that's not an accurate way of calculating gains at all. Only way to know your own gains is to go dyno your car stock then dyno after mods.

Well, if stickers add 5 hp then a nav and tails should be like 50+

With Auto and a hot day you will see sub 140awhp on that baseline. Pathetic.

I saw 143 awhp on a GIAC\Carbonio\APR Catback car, you do the math on a stocker.

On our personal dyno jet we have never seen those numbers from any car. Must have been sub 200whp. But anything is possible. Even with the 28% drive train loss.

Re: Anyone on LI want to bring a Stock Tip 2.0T to get dynoe'd

Well taking into account the drive train loss, hot weather and the fact you are comparing you car to a second car there is no way you are going to get an accurate read on what YOU are actually gaining from the mods you did to your car.

Don’t get me wrong you have done a lot and put a lot of time into your car but just bc you add everything up on paper doesn’t mean you are actually getting the gains on you car. Once you throw in other variables especially comparing your car to a different one (even though its the same make and model) you will never get an accurate read. In my opinion you should have taken a base line on your car before doing anything to it.

Perfect example I was at a dyno day for Z's and we put around 12-15 cars on all stock/lightly moded and not one single car was the same. There was a big gap in the whp ratings the cars were at. The cars ranged from 230-260whp. This just proves that no two cars are the same.

I hate to be the barer of bad news but you really should take into consideration what the other guys are saying in the tread. I honestly do not think with all the bolt on's that you have that you are any where in the
220-250ish range. If you are why in the hell would I spend 5k on a big turbo kit if I can achieve close to 300whp with just bolt ons and a good tune. That means with the set up APR had out you would be in the mid 400whp range and as far as I know no one really got up that high with the software that was first released.

Take it from an old normally-aspirated engine builder: the important thing is not just the peak HP and TQ numbers, but the size of the area under the power curves is what you want to focus on. It isn't that hard to build an engine with high peak HP that lacks power at low and mid-rpms. What we should be shooting for are mods that make the power curve fatter without completely sacrificing mid-range TQ (which equates to mid-range HP) and throttle response. The fact that the 2.0T engine has such a fat power curve area to begin with is what makes it a great powerplant to tune and is why the A4 is relatively quick for what it is: a 200hp, heavy, AWD 4cyl.

My car made 240AWHP on a mustang dyno which I hear usually reads low, although i do have a 6spd.

But the baseline would be on a different day, different atmospheric conditions, etc. Is that really that much better than comparing to a different car on the same day?

okay who cares... I think he understands that it isn't the best methods of dynoing... but he wants to do it anyways... worse case scenario is he gets a worst case scenario dyno chart (hot weather, etc.,etc.). Waste of money? Probably... but to his own... and I'm always eager to see dyno charts and the data.

No that’s my point it won’t show anything of importance or relevance just another dyno sheet. It is a bad way of measuring gains and performance.

Well - i have to give my two cents! It has been said many times before and I will say it again! All Dyno's are different, all cars are completely different and all weather conditions are different. My best and latest dyno sheet i pulled 275awhp and 318awtq. This was on a Maha Dyno which is one of the most accurate in the world! Pete, even though you have just about every bolt on your numbers can differ completely than the numbers of a car with the exact same mods. All engines react differently and perform differently. I am curious to see what you put down. Like i have said in previous posts you should expect 230's awhp and about 270's awtq. Thats a fair assessment in my opinion. Good luck, let us know what you put down when you go. (where are you going by the way???)

So to get to 275awhp you had to have to KO4 from APR

I can't wait to see some numbers. Sure all cars are different but having a stock car there to compare with at least gets us in the ballpark.

Pete - its 300 dollars for a dyno session at Grand Prix, your and idiot if you go there. Please do me a favor and go to either http://www.swiftmotorsports.com/, or http://pampenamotorsports.com/ or http://www.dgmotorsny.com/Performance/performance.html. There are so many places - GP has a dyno pack which requires you to wait 3hrs for the bums over there to place your car on it. I am not sure who lied to you about the price but its def. not 80 dollars. Use google and search awd dynos on long island. At the GP prices you can drive to CT and still save on gas money! Plus they suck over at GP so i do not want to see you get burned!

Yes to achieve 275 at the wheels you need a k04. I am waiting on the new k04 kit to come out. I am hoping i can swap mine out for that one. Supposedly the turbos are new and improved and will allow for greater HP. I will keep everyone posted.
