cheap ebay ipod cigarette lighter dock

anyone know of any specific ipod lighter docs that can actually fit into the cigarette lighter of a 96 a4? i bought a few from stores, and they either don't fit (because there's no space), or they fall out (because the lighter just kinda sucks like that). i want to find one that charges, and has an fm transmitter.

It's true that there is no room near the cigarette lighter. I think that ipod integration is the best solution which is what I did to my car.

The lighters on our cars are low-profile and ipod and other aftermarket stuff is too bulky.
What about a Y adaptor for the ciggie plug and then plug the ipod thingie into that?

i've tried a few of those that i had lying around, but the cig lighter seems too shallow in depth, and they just fall out. i've had a few cars like that, but most were deep enough that they could hold them. right now... ehh.. i'll just post a pic. its hard to explain.



i want to use that dock for my pda for gps, and i hate windshield mounts...and i was hoping to find something that fit in the cig lighter so that i could just put the ipod down there.

I'm in the same boat. Damn low profile lighter socket in my '96 Audi A4 sucks. I can't plug my ipod or cell phone charger in it without it falling out. Every car I've ever driven including my '89 & '90 Accords worked fine with all my chargers. Anybody have a tip so we can use the cigarette port better with chargers?

I guess it might be possible to switch out the low profile cig lighter port with a standard length one. I'll have to see if I can pop the cig lighter out before I look for one to switch in.
