What will happen is that if you email him, he will tell you the car needs to be shipped to you. Then he will say you are going to use an escrow company, or ebay to facilitate that transaction (for your protection of course) LOL

There are a lot of these exact scams happening. I had one similar (NB) also. So I said, well don't worry about the shipping - I own my own company and I need to fly out there for business anyways - I was going to go a month from now, but I'll just step up my plans, fly down this weekend, do what I need to do, buy your car, then drive it back. I got an email back saying it was sold...I sent an email from another email address, guess what, it was still for sale LOL

I've had similar situations, where I was actually looking to import one from the states and do the mods. If you look on trader in the US there have been a couple listed for under $30k with low km's. And at that point in time our dollar was basically at par to the US. I emailed a few guys wanting to go and see the car and most of them gave me the same response:

"First of all I want to tell you that I am not selling this car for profit or due a lack of money. All I can say is that some recent events in my life made me change my perception of certain things, things that I've considered important in the past. I will donate all money to charity after I sell this car. I am currently on a trip for UNICEF. The transaction will be made through eBay company for the safety of both. I've already included the car into eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection, so I will sell only through this. If you want to buy the car, and you agree with my terms please reply so I can give you a detailed description of the eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection."

Seems very odd...

Yeah it's always a scam... I always email them and try to get a phone #. I play dumb, and often I will get one. Once I have the phone #, I forward everything to FBI online fraud dept (as it's most often a US phone #). They have an online form.

Seriously, if you wanted to sell a car like an RS4 and give the $ to charity... ask 60 grand for it and sell it over night... 25 grand is short changing his supposed charity by 10's of thousands of dollars. :)

Out of curiosity, why are Audis in Canada just more expensive that in the US??? Am thinking for my next Audi to buy it from the US, drive it here, do the inspection etc, pay the importation tax on it and thats it. I think it will still be cheaper than local dealers here. We have to pay tax anyway when we get it from the dealer.

Can definitely save you money, just do your research... that thread covers pretty much all the bases, I think.
