Coolant hose? pics

can anyone tell me the purpose of this hose? it seems to be broken and just sitting there and i dont know if it being broken may be hirting anything. any thoughts? its the hose sitting against the valve cover.

Kinda tough to tell what it connects to. Any better pictures or discription of where it leads? And can you see the other broken end?

If it connects to the bottom of the coolant resevoir, it's supposed to be "broken"

your fine its there cause if u overflow your expansion tank itll leak thru that house, dont clog it your fine

is it possible that whatever keeps the coolant from leaking out of it may get broken? I have recently had a problem with my coolant getting low and I think it may be leakng out this hose. I was under the impression that it was for overflow but was t sure.

anythings possible, but check your coolant lines that isnt the only one thats simply just an overflow hose, got to find where its leakin
