So I'm at Penske Audi today w/ a buddy getting his A3 serviced... We sit down in an RS4 in the showroom... I shift it into first and 2nd gear, murmur to myself, very effortless clutch and shifter, comfortable. Then some salesman comes over and angrily grunts at me "HEY don't play with the gears, you will mess up the "GEAR RATIOS." Someone already did that before so stop." So as I pretended to not be bothered by his lack of knowledge, He proceeds to go into the sales office and comes back out with a arm full of keys. He goes around to every car and closes every window and locks all the doors. (even remote locks the car im in... lame...) He comes over and stands glaring at me impatiently outside the RS4 going "YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR WHAT SIR??". So we step outside the RS4, he gets in, turns on the engine, revs it a few times (inside the enclosed showroom) and then the car makes this loud syncro mashing noise.. and he closes the windows slams the door and walks away...

Out of my family and my dealings with penske dealerships (and the 7 cars we bought from them), this is the first time I've met such an assmunch employee..

think his name was mario lopez or something.... dont talk to him if you go, hes an ass.

Seems like Penske standards just aren't what they used to be..

hey man i totally know who you are talking about when u say mario lopez at penske west covina.That guy is the biggest d*ck he acts like he is the coolest sh*t around he wouldnt help me out when me and my wife went to buy our car. He acted like i never owned anything nice before little does he know ive owned 4 audis so we went back later to buy our 08 phantom black cab from someone else ahhhhhhh this still pisses me off treated my brother in law the same way.

I had a bad experience at Penske the first time I went to look at an RS4. We were (we re-fell in love with our current cars) in the market for one, and I was treated like sh%t!.

Guys -- We've been supportive of the community even before we opened our doors for business -- those of you who have followed us from inception can definitely vouch for that. We've also held numerous Audi events for the community, including but not limited to being the headline sponsor for last years SoCalEuro event, etc.

I apologize for any unprofessional treatment anyone has received, I know it doesn't reflect well on us as a dealership -- and we all hate to see it! On the flip side, everyone is their own individual and we here in the service dept. really don't see what goes on at the sales side of things. Of course that's no excuse for poor customer service whatsoever.

I'm going to forward this post to our GM on everyones behalf, because this is something he needs to be aware of. Chris and I have worked hard to get the Penske name out there as a reputable dealership that not only caters to, but also employs Audi enthusiasts and I'd hate to see that reputation be tarnished by any of the employees here.

I 100% agree i have been to many audi service departments and penske west covina by far is the BEST. They are professional they get the job done right and when i was there with my last a4 they gave me a loaner car. I was just there last week i dealt with jason he was awesome he showed me how to check the tire pressure monitoring system on my a4 cab because that is new to me on the 08 models thanks jason.I guess i should also say not all the sales dept. sucks just one guy.

I dealt with somebody else on the sales floor and had the experience that I mentioned above.

On the other hand, I have had two good sales experiences at the dealership and the service department is stellar. In fact, I had slight issues with some of the work that was performed in the past, but they did their best to rectify the situation, which is all that you can ask of anybody.

lol... you're not going to damage the car by shifting with the clutch in when the car is sitting there. Thats ridiculous. Even NOT using the clutch, doubtful you'd damage anything. Its an RS4, not a glass sculpture of an RS4. I'd hope its not that brittle.

lol thanks, saves me the trouble to go rant to your GM.... overall penske has always been good.. just that one douche... I'm actually still on your dealership's list of prospects, my dad is getting that A8 within the next 2 weeks or so..

PSA- Avoid Downtown LA Audi if at ALL possible for sales. I havent needed to go in for service, but because of my sales guy, I will never go back there for anything.

Thanks Jason for forwarding the multiple complaints about that salesguy to the GM. I can't imagine he'd be able to sell many cars with that kind of attitude, disrespect, and ignorance.
