17 in rims over S4 brakes

I have seen a number of threads saying that only certain 17's will fit over B6/7 S4 brake calipers and rotors. Anyone actually do this? Any chance stock sport wheels will fit over these brakes? I am looking at cheap 17's for snows this winter and this will affect whether I can buy these brakes or not.

You should check what the offset is on a b6 s4 and that should tell you what kind of offset you're looking for with your wheels. I'm pretty sure the regular offset on a b6 a4 is 35mm so it's gotta be less than that with s4 calipers.

I had a set of B6 A4 17" Sport wheels over my B6 S4 brakes with no issues.

Yes. I have B5 S4 and they fit over my Avant 17" wheels which are the same as the Sports....

They will fit. I'm pretty sure. They are almost the same exact thing as my Avant wheels.

A6 Pie plates and fat fives fit over B6/B7 S4 brakes as well.
