    lug bolt & wheel question

had a conversation with someone today and an interesting question was brought up about the length of lug nuts needed for different company wheels. My two reference points are the bottom of the cone where the lug bolt sits, and the back of the wheel where it comes in contact with the hub.

So if i was to put a 27mm spherical lug bold into my stock Avus wheel and a 27mm conical lug bolt into my BBS wheels with a 35mm off set, will the two lug bolts stick out of the back of the wheel the same distance?

It all goes down to, what length lug bolts do i need to add 10mm spacers onto the rear wheels of my B6 S4 with 35mm offset bbs wheels?

Re: lug bolt & wheel question

You're gonna need 7.5 turns of bolt into the threads or about 12mm of load bearing shaft length. A stock wheel with 10mm spacers will use an M14.1.5 bolt.

If you have both wheels in your possession, I would stick a bolt through each wheel and measure the differences, to see how much bolt each wheel takes up. If they are the same, which they should be with BBS wheels, then go with the above size.

    Hope this helps!
