Ok everyone hold your horses.
I just replaced my fuel pump, literally minutes ago. I just got back from the test drive.
See a few threads down on thefirst page I asked for help and never got any(thanks) but I figured it out on my own.
Whoever said they paid $700 for a fuel pump got ripped off.
I did it myself. It's not to hard.
You just pull the back seat bench out.
There's a black cap with 3 screws on the passanger side, this exposes the fuel pump cap.
If you're going to order a fuel pump you should also get a filter if you haven't done one. My pump started going so I did my filter. Gave me some time but my pump died about 5k miles later so I just did the Pump and Filter again.
If you're changing th pump you should do the filter.
I did need to buy a special tool from a member on here. The 3307 tool. It cost $80 or more new. He gave it to me for $70 shipped.
I'll send it to you for $60 shipped. You can't tell it's ever been used and I just got it today and I can stick right back in the same packaging and send it out asap.
I have the Bentley Manual too. If you don't I can take screen caps for you and show you the steps it fairly simple and straight forward especially with the one special tool to get the pump out
It says you need 2 special tools but first is just to turn a brass lock ring and you can do that with a flat head and mallet no problem.
Here are two tools it says you need I tried it without the 3307 but I coudln't get it out and I didn't want to brake anything and create more of a problem so I waited for the tool.
Also try to have as little gas in the car when you do it...I unfortantely had a full tank and lost about 1/4 of. 1/2 tank or less you should be golden.
PM me or email me at
[email protected] and I will help you completely with this since no one helped me with mine and it was frustrating but now that I'm done I realize how easy it could have been with some help.
