dealer TSB flash and apr program

Went to the stealership today and they flashed my ecu with some sort of tsb program. I went in the stealership with my lockout program. For the people that had their apr program erased by the dealer tsb flashes were you still able to access the apr flip switch like going to stock to octane 91,93 or did it simply not allow you to switch anymore? How do you know if your program has been erased? I'm asking because I'm still able to do the flip switch via the check engine thing but I cant really tell the difference between stock and 93. Maybe I'm so use to octane 93 that I cant tell anymore.

if your chip is erased, you shouldn't be able to switch it anymore. It sounds like the dealer didn't really perform the update on your car.

if you can't feel a difference.....it's probably been flashed over. Trying going to your APR dealer and see if they can tell you.

if you can control the switching with your stalk for the different programs you have, then the dealership never reflashed you correctly.

Not true. The difference between 93 chipped mode and stock is HUGE. Any time I drive my car in stock mode it is very very apparent.

I'd say if your car feels the same as it did when you dropped it off, you haven't been flashed. Why you cant feel a difference between stock and 93 I have no answer for. Are you sure you're switching programs correctly?

Well I do feel a little difference between the programs so I guess I still have it. Not a HUGE difference though. Like I said I must be use to the power.

Whenever our cars gets reflashed with a tsb from the dealer, does it automatically take out the chip? I think I'm just paranoid. I'm gonna go to apr to have it checked to see if it is still there.

With my REVO, yes it gets over-written by the dealer if they do a TSB repair requiring it, according to my REVO dealer. With APR I heard this is also the case. It seems logically true because it is similar to the wiping of a hard drive in the PC world rather than just changing/upgrading the operating system (where our flashed ECMs would be the same as having a resident program loaded on a computer's hard drive). Even though the ECMs are solid state, they can still be wiped clean.

One other issue with REVO (not sure with APR) is that if I disconnect the battery for whatever reason, my REVO flash isn't erased but it does become disabled unless I have the Select-Plus tool option whereby I can, I'm told, re-activate the program...NOT reflash the ECM, just enable the flashed program to run after a power interruption.

You're absolutely right. However, I don't think the issue is whether or not it is possible for your aftermarket flash to be flashed over but whether or not the dealer performed that particular service.

I have 93 APR and it's a HUGE difference between it and stock. I mean it's like a short fat girl compared to a tall thin blonde, it's really night and day for me.
