Just installed DICE adapter for use with my iPhone 3G..

Just for everyones info, I spoke to someone at Dice who told me that once they finish the wire that WILL charge the 3G iphone, that it will be offered as a complimentary upgrade to people who already have the current one. I found this hard to believe, but we shall see.

Anyway, I just popped out the iPod adapter in my glovebox and plugged in the Dice. Took all of 3 minutes. Ill worry about routing the wires later, just wanted to test it out.

It works pretty well, but the nav display is obviously useless (which I expected) it just shows random track 1-xxx. No problem as I plan to use this directly from the phone anyway.

I have a small issue though. A while ago, I posted about some weird faint beeps that I heard whenever I got in my car.

Now, when I plugged in the Dice, and whenever I change tracks on the ipod, I hear 5, sometimes 4 quick beeps coming from the rear portion of my car. I hear this everytime I switch tracks, or switch in and out of the mode for using the ipod. Anyone have any clue what this sound is?

I hear the beeps too... you get used to it and almost expect it as an indicator that your ipod is connected.

Do you hear it after every track change as well?

I often hear the same beeps when I get in my car before I ever had the Dice installed.

Hey guys, now when I plug my iphone in, for some reason it beeps like 100 times (for about 2 mins) before it starts playing.

Not Normal. However, when I had my ipod with the dice, sometimes it would work well, other times it would do that and not sync properly. I would have to unplug it 2 or 3 times to get it to work right. The place I got my new ipod intergration from does not use DICE anymore b/c they said 3-4 out of 10 DICE units would be defective. They now use USA spec, and since I"ve been using that, I haven't had one problem when plugging my iphone/ipod into the dock.

I use DICE and don't hear any beeps at all; this is with an iPhone and an old 4th gen iPod. I do however hear static sounds when nothing is plugged in (which is to be expected).

This is why 2pint5.com stopped selling DICE products.

It still works perfectly, it just beeps a lot the first time I plug it in. Then it does the "normal" beeps when switching back/forth from the mode or switching songs.

Does anyone know exactly what the beep is?

Do you hear the beeps with your new unit or was that just with your dice? Because I heard these beeps when I got in my car prior to installing the dice unit, now I also hear them with the dice.

It sounds like they are coming from the rear of the car right? What the hell IS that?

should solve the DICE charging problem without needing a new wire and waiting the 2 months for delivery.
