Kosei K1TS wheels, yay or nay

So I'm looking into purchasing some kosei k1ts wheels. They are 18x8 and according to tirerack they only weigh 16 lbs. Is this accurate? Has anyone had any experience with these wheels? Will they fit over our brakes? Are they quality wheels? Thanks for the input.

i didnt know they came in 18's

i heard 17's were the biggest, and weigh in at 14lbs. nice and cheap, but very soft and prone to bending. and yeah people have run them on s4's without any real issues.

^^^ I have heard that about SSR rims. Was told only one model(The really expensive one I think it was) was worth buying. I've seen the Kosei's used on Evo's in timeattacks at buttonwillow and they haven't reported any problems. I think it is a nice cheap wheel.

Big 's to these wheels... I don't know what derrick is talking about, but mine have held up very well since I put them on the car, no bending whatsoever (through 20k miles and four NJ/NY/CT seasons). They are ultra light (15lbs each) and relatively inexpensive too

A friend with an S4 Avant has cracked 5 of the 6 he purchased. Says the car is just too heavy for them. The 17x8 is 15.5 pounds.

FWIW, I ran the 17x8 Flik Lex for several winters and only bent two. One was on a pothole so bad I nearly chipped a tooth. They outlasted the Koseis, most think they looked better, were only 2 pounds heavier, and I only paid 99 a wheel.

SSR comps had bendy problems too. If you are going to buy cheap light wheels then buy them six at a time. Otherwise go for 20-22 pounds or get forged wheels.

well i think my choices may be between these K1TS or some 18" Superleggeras. any comments on that? any suggestions?

i just got superleggers and i wanted to get a 5th but i cant find any where that sells the. Tirerack doesnt have them listed anympre

that's because superleggeras have been discontinued. Noone sells them

Have you looked at the RPF1's by Enkei? They have a similar design and are lightweight too.

rpf1's are around the same price as super/ultraleggeras. great wheel too, and they essentially match kosie wheels.

but for the price, you might as well get kosei.
