GIAC chipped ECU problem, please help.

I recently purchased and installed a GIAC chip in my 2000 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro, and I noticed a bit of puttering when I would go past 3500 rpm and the car would bounce a little. Since then, the engine light has come on and I was just wondering if there are any solutions or if anything is wrong with the chip, or maybe the DV. Thanks in advance.

Did you make sure to do a throttle adapt after installing the ecu?

Get a new set of plugs and gap them to 0.028 inches. I recommend NGK BKR7E or BKR6E. Nothing fancy but they work really good.

When you chip the car, as you know the boost is increased. Because of this, it is possible for the additional air pressure entering the cylinders to blow out the spark before proper ignition occurs. When you reduce the space between the electrodes, this can't happen as easily.

The stock turbo doesn't reach full boost until 3000-3200 rpms, i would bet that this is what's happening when you say you notice sputtering at 3500 rpms. Then again, i can't say for sure because i have never had this problem with my car... My plugs have been gapped to 0.028 since i got it
