    Re: Carbonio intake???

I've been contemplating on getting one myself, since as far as I know this is the only aftermarket one that comes with a heatshield to protect it from turbo heat(correct me if i'm wrong.) Although I have read in 1-2 other forums aside from Audizine that the stock intake on the A4 is sufficient enough.

On Audiworld.com I came upon a B6 Project car which installed a Carbonio intake system. "It looks to us like intake temps decreased on average about eight degrees, which translates into a significant power increase and associated better throttle response. Besides the performance, the look of the unit is quite impressive." This is a picture of the graph of the Carbonio intake results.

    http://www.audiworld.com/news/08/pro...-4/header5.jpg

This is just some information I have found in my research of aftermarket intakes for my 2004 A4, hope this helps.

they show up in the classifieds every once in a while. i dont think i could justify buying a new one for limited at best increases in performance

    Re: Carbonio intake???

I have one but my car has no other performance mods yet. Other than the sound of the diverter valve between shifts and looking nice in the engine bay, I don't believe it did much if anything at all for the performance. The intake itself is not loud like you would expect from hearing on other cars. You definitely hear your turbo spool louder and the dv between shifts. I'd try to get it used if you can find it. Fitment kinda sucked but once you get it in there it looks good.

it doesn't do much on stock but flashed it may benfit a bit more. I got mine free so i have no complaints but i don't think i would buy it. They show up in the classified frequently anyways or just make a custom one instead

I've had one for about 8 months now. There's no performance increase from it that I can feel but you can definitely hear the diverter valve better. I got it for Christmas so I think it was worth recieving as a present atleast! And it looks swweet!

I've been running the Carbonio intake for over 2 years and I like it. It looks good, sounds great, and improves the throttle response a little. However, it's an expensive mod and won't increase the power of your car THAT much. If you have the $$$ and want one of the best intake for our A4, go for it!!!

When mine got installed I notice better throttle response and a slight increase in mpg. In my B5, I used to get 330-350miles to the tank, now I'm getting at least 340 each tank.

Could be.. But also could be you sub consciously driving slower and not even noticing it.. Or earlier shifts.. Or GRKa4 sneaking over to your house and adding gas to your tank to throw you off.. C'mon who knows nowadays, its 2008!

Thanks for your help guys. I think I may get one. I don't really have anything done for show under the hood yet. I am getting my engine cover and all the fluid caps painted to match the car. I do have the bigger fuel injectors, GIAC flash, Forge DV and Magnaflow exhaust.

My exact thoughts. (I didn't want some cheap looking DIY intake, I wanted something subtle and nice...Carbonio certainly lived up to that)

    Re: Carbonio intake???

I have it. It's flashy because of the CF lid. You get a "woosh" that makes the DV sound a little like a BOV. There may be a little more air flow, but nothing that makes any substantial gain. From all tests done with Carbonio and others, you can't beat the OEM air box.

why does everybody call ming purple. You don't know how many times chicks have said "oh I love this purple color", it drives me insane................

I just ordered a new carbonio when they were doing the 15% off sale but with tax and shipping it still came to 380.

the carbonio wont fit the nuespeed extreme TIP, just FYI, i had a carbonio intake and i had to go back to the stock intake because i bought the nuespeed extreme TIP and the hose did not align to the filter housing, oh well, i think stock is better plus the swoosh noise will get on your nerves after a while.

I've had mine for over a year now and love it. It works great for adding good looks to the engine bay and also for hearing the DV. Mine was a gift too so that's even better. I don't think I could justify the price otherwise. I still love it though

I have had the carbonio for about a year. Its sexy and makes the dv sound louder. You can also hear the air rushing into the intake when you are just cruising around. I am happy with it. No yellowing or discoloration. Great product.

Mine's been turning a greenish yellow color. APR won't replace it. They say that if you use cleaning/detailing products, it voids the warranty.

Ive heard alot of install problems with this unit, I don't get why Carbonio would design a product for a certain application but then make it a btich to install... don't these people test fit things or is it just me? In the end, i'll probaly still get one. Yes, i'm now a hypocrite.
