paint guys- single stage painted lowers???

so im just curious as to how you guys think single stage paint would look on the lowers compare the the base coat-clear coat from the factory. im planning on eventually getting a new front and rear and maybe some sides, but im just too damn sick of the grey lowers. this would just be temporary for now until that actually happens.

FYI, i will be doing the paint myself. ive taken some classes through my auto school and have a decent amount of experience. the only reason i want to do single stage is that for some reason i ALWAYS manage to fuck up the clear coat. always comes out with a ridiculous amount of orange peel.

    thanks fot the input guys!

You're dry spraying the clear. Try a something and compare it to the car.

Moving the gun to fast and not getting enough paint to get a nice wet spray or having the gun to far away and the clear drying before is gets on the surface.

its deffinatly been wet when ive layed it down. i typically hold the gun 10-12inches from what im painting. ive always though i layed it on too thick, and thats why it was orange peeling.

anyway, i thought i could get my paint in single stage...but i cant. i may just buy some quality paint and then use spray can clear, since ive had better luck with that stuff than with a gun haha

first wetsand with 1500grit wet. Then with a machine buffer use 3m heavy duty compound.....then move up to 3m finesse glaze and then hand polish...should look like new. Just dont burn the paint...lolol
