Ok, so i have a TIP A4 Quattro, and everytime i try to launch using the gas brake maneuver i feel like there is a lag, and also you cant have it like that for a while, does anyone know how is the perfect way to launch the car, cause i have been in the same car but 6spd and it launches reallllly good. also is there a way to burn out in our cars like peel out or anything like that ? any videos or stuff like that, i wud appreciate it !!!

Re: Best Way To Launch In A Quattro? And Possibly Burn Out?

1, you have an auto transmission so there's really no "perfect way to launch" as all you need to do is floor the gas...

2, your car doesn't make enough power to "burn out"

3, I suggest you go to www.auto.howstuffworks.com and read all the articles on there before you post another question like this again.

You need a lot more power.

But for your car, all I can say is bald tires and 50+psi of air in each tire. Try that

On manual tranny, things are easy, and after a few goings you will find it...
But you will need a new clutch set as well...

As I did and went with organic Sachs racing

Seriously though, why even ask such a question. Would you like to do a burn out because it will make more awesome than your friend(s)!?

I remember my buddy had an old beater auto Accord. He left in his dads construction yard and at night we used to take turns launching it into trash cans and shit. We must have launched it a good 15 times one day.

Re: Best Way To Launch In A Quattro? And Possibly Burn Out?

pffft I've yet to find a FWD or RWD car that could beat my launch (6 speed) so long as I don't biff it. Auto would be tricky though, I never tried to launch one.

Nah, fuck that, just do what I do to my friends' GTI and A3: wait till we get up and going, stay with them, and then watch them squirm when they hit the turns as you crawl so far up their ass you're coming out their engine compartment! Watch in amusement as their front wheels start coming out from underneath them.

Re: Best Way To Launch In A Quattro? And Possibly Burn Out?

It's Beverly Hills guys, give the kid a break .

To answer the OP though, with a DBW (Drive By Wire) throttle you're always going to have some amount of lag between when you press the gas and the car goes. With a manual this is alleviated somewhat due to the reasons mentioned by the people above. With a Tip however, it gets worse because the TCU needs to figure out how much power can be safely transferred to your tranny without destroying it.

Re: Best Way To Launch In A Quattro? And Possibly Burn Out?

My old evo had a 2 step rev limit which was perfect for launching. As long as the car wasnt moving and on flat pavement you could floor it and it would studder at 5500 rpms build about 7 psi and then just quickly slip the clutch a little to get her movin then let it out all the way and bam perfect launch I would cut 1.5-6 60 foot times no problem.

your best bet is to do what potential said but its extreme bad/stupid

OR..... left foot on brake, right foot on gas about 3800-4000k hold and then launch.

Some say turn off ur ESP... but don't think it matters unless you have a lot of power.

Turn off ESP, low fuel for weight, no spare, 42psi in the tires, 3500RPM Power brake. I have gotten the car to bounce off the limiter in the rain, and chirp the tires with some smoke in the dry. Sub 5 second 0-60 with my setup.

to OP best way to launch your car would be as follows... drive it to the junkyard, get as much as u can for it, get a rusty old civic, remove the tires so u roll on rims, rip the e brake, put it in N, floor it, then drop it into d and remove e brake... that should give u a show that ur looking for
