I have an A6, but i'm always on here and this forum get much more traffic.
Anyway, I failed the emissions test with me 2002 A6 3.0 due to a broken flew pipe, aka exhaust leak.
The full piece which includes one cat, the downpipe portion, and the flex pipe from audi is over a grand for one side. Which as we all know is ridiculous. One of my old bosses, who owns a shop said he can fix it with oem parts for about 550 parts alone. He does things 100% by the book, no ghetto rigging it.
ECS and any exhaust shop should have a generic flex pipe section that they can weld/clamp in right? I mean do i really need to do it with oem stuff? Keep in mind i'm selling the car and only need to to pass inspection once and then it can be someone else's headache.
Realistically, a $40 flex section and a couple clamps and my angle grinder to cut the piece out should do the job? or no?
Thanks in advance guys!
