Earlier this night about 11:00pm, I was turning left onto 100TH in Silverlake, WA from southbound 19TH ST, Jetta GLI cut me off. I put on my high beams and the Jetta decided to throw something out the moonroof. Well I hit my high beams again, yet to find a Taco Bell cup go through the moonroof this time and hit my cars windshield.

I was furious.

I pulled in front of the GLI to try and slow him down and come to a stop. When I hit my brakes, WHAM, right into the rear of my 3 week old 05 Audi A4 UltraSport.

My boyfriend was driving and him and I immediatly stopped the car and jumped out, the Jetta did about 60 MPH in reverse, stopped then went forward. My boyfriend ran back tot he car to try and chase him down, and he was gone. A nearby residence heard the comotion and came outside to make sure everyone was alright. We're definitly sore as it seemed the Jeetta didn't even hit his brakes. So as we were talking to the residence the Jetta returned to the scene and floored it once more, and me and my boyfriend jumped back into the car to try and catch him. He went back to 100TH and was passing cars in the center lane. My boyfriend did manage to get the first three numbers of the license plate, but with the heavy running couldnt get the last three.

We managed to go back and get the taco bell cup they had thrown and their plastic lower trim piece that fell out in the accident. We are going to Taco Bell to talk to the owner tmw witht he police to review the video camera

YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE OUT THERE. IT WOULD BE BEST TO JUST TAKE IT UP WITH INSURANCE, AND WE WONT GET THE AUTHORITIES INVOLVED. PLEASE COME FORWARD.

EDIT: I do come to realize now that I believe the Jetta had tried to pass me to the right side, I have his left front lower bumper grill piece with damage on my right rear bumper. Reason he hit me so hard, was because he was trying to pass rather than slow down.

Have you tried check on vwvortex? Given that it was a Jetta and modded, it might be a known car on those forums.

It's unfortunate that things ended up as they did, as the whole situation probably could've been avoided. I can definitely empathize with "getting caught up in the moment" though, at least neither of you were seriously injured.

How about if the guy gets caught, and he doesn't have insurance (one main reason to run, or possibly intoxicated) we can take him to court and show authorities that we were not lieing. It's a he said she said deal now when it comes to what had happened other than a police report.

As I stated before, there were mistakes on both parties, but throwing a tacobell cup at a car, and then trying to speed off once you know the person wants you to stop, try to bust off and hit the person, then RUN. I think is a more poor choice on their part than anything that happened.

To the OP, good luck finding the GLI driver and you should consider you and your boyfriend lucky that no one was seriously hurt from his momentary lack of better judgement. Yeah, we had actually not cut them off. we got next to them after the cup was thrown but the tinted windows were so dark we couldnt see them once we got in front of them my boyfriend actually put the blinker on pointing to the shoulder, we now come to realize why he hit us so hard as we were slowing down to pull off the shoulder, was because he tried to go around us to the right side and realized he didn't have enough room, and clipped us on the way by.

Yes, he was pissed off about the cup being thrown, and my boyfriend wanted to tear his head off. We knew that we weren't going to be able to pull up next the them and kindly to ask them to pull over, the kid was running scared to begin with, esp as he cut us off almost causing an accident from the get go!

Zak actually knows he was in the wrong for trying to pull them over, and just should have gotten the license plate while we were back there, but who knew what was going to come out the sunroof after that.

Lesson learned definitly, just want to find the person who isn't man enough to come forward.

We have a couple of leads, so today might pan out :-)
The police are involved and the main concern is just finding this kid.

I do want to make this very clear, it was not a brake check, yes there were tempers flying, but I'm sure that is very understood, and sometimes some people need a wake up call.

Well, the reason we THINK its AWE tuning exhaust is because of the license plate frame. The car had the SAME EXACT STYLE AND LOOK as the AWE tuning system.

We talked to the police about the 350 license situation already. They told us "it comes up with too many cars", if I can remember right the last three had "VXK" "VKX" or maybe an L mixed. The car was leaving so fast and running after it to get a good view of it, I couldn't make out the last three.

YOu realize the only thing the kid did was leave the scene of an accident with property damage. Contrary to popular belief rear-ending someone is not automatic fault. Certain circumstances, such as when the person admits to swerving in front of them and slamming the brake pedal to the floor would put the fault of the other driver. That being ur retarded bf. I am sorry for your loss, I can understand why you feel the way you do. I don't think any of us are trying to defend the OP's behavior, on the contrary almost everyone has admonished the OP in one form or another. I certainly don't condone how the situation was handled, but at the same time I also don't believe it warrants deserving to "drive off a cliff". All of us at one point or another have taken risks while driving that weren't necessary. Do we all deserve to drive off of cliffs?

It's no coincidence that people like you don't make the decisions that matter in this world. So the other party is allowed to leave the scene of the accident simply because they were not at fault? Obviously he/she must've felt responsible for something, otherwise why would they run? I'm sure if you or one of your friends was in the OP's position, you might feel quite differently.
