rusted hood anyone?

i used to see these in the vw forums, and i was wondering if anyones done it on here? i figure most ppl wouldnt cuz our cars are a bit more exp. then dubs but who knows, ill ask anyways!

It is very much a V-dub thing. Mostly on the older beetles is where I've seen it. It looks good on old rat rod based cars and vintage vehicles, but on a new jetta or audi it looks ridiculous.

Definitely a VW thing, I came from VW to Audi and I love all the crazy shit v-dubbers do. My buddy just got a b5 s4, and while he was looking he refused to test drive plenty of nice nogaro blue s4s because he didn't want the car to stand out. Audi fans that didn't come from VW seem so much more conservative.

The alternative is chalkboard paint. My friends had their MKIV hoods painted with chalkboard paint so they can write whatever they wanted on the hood many times over.

Haha, that's actually really creative. It would look strange when it rained because chalkboards usually look different when they are wet.
