    Curb rash repair?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Anyone know of a good/well priced place to repair some serious curb rash? I scraped the hell out of one of my wheels today and it's killing me. I looked at that DIY tech article already.. doesn't seem like something I could pull off, plus the materials look to be about $50-70 anyway.

    OR

Anyone got a spare 18" VMR RS4 rep wheel? =)

Yup that's what I rashed up, I almost wonder if I should just buy a single wheel. I'll look into Wheels America and Wheel techniques.. any more? Any idea how long it takes them to repair a wheel?

if you drop off the wheel at wheel techniques in the south bay you should be able to pick it up in about two to three days and it'll run you around $150-175.

Wheels America in Hayward has a one day turnaround. Price is $150. For reps though, I'd just buy another wheel and be done with it and keep the rashed one as a spare, or garden hose reel, or something. A single replica can be had for less than $200 right?

I was watching this with interest because I curbed one of My RS6 reps this past weekend, but I can get a new one on eBay for like $127, so I guess I'll just to the DIY for now.

i'd DIY, or just buy a new one. use the rashed one as a full size spare.

Don't go to any of those places that charge more than $100. If you are up in SF at all, go to Rolling Stock. Yes, it's ghetto but apparently their wheel repair guy knows his stuff. Just look it up on Yelp.

    Re: Curb rash repair?

Audi of Oakland has a mobile vendor at the dealership once or twice a week. My friend had his '05 Porsche Carrera wheels fixed at a cost of $100 per wheel. They don't remove the tire from the wheel when they do the repairs.

Ask Service Advisor Vince Fernandez for more info. Tell him Andre referred you.

i got 2 cans brake cleaner (as opposed to paint thinner, cleans awesome...careful though) 2 cans of paint, bondo putty, 4 pack assorted sandpaper (had like a 220, 400, 800 i think) some masking tape. forgot primer...

30 bux and change at Autozone. get in the zone.
