ACNA - 7 Aug GTG at Evolution Motorsports

Greetings All,

Well, 7 Aug is approaching quickly and I wanted to follow up and see how many are planning on participating at the Evoution Motorsports GTG this Thursday? As Brian mentioned in a seperate thread, I think that it is a good idea to have everyone that is participating on the Audi side to be a member of ACNA. This first small GTG could be a good start to getting things organized and moving the club in the right direction. Also, as I mentioned in an another thread, I would like to get some intial photos at this GTG to possibly submit to QQ mag, and use on our future AZ Chapter webpage once our chapter is solidified.

As far as logistics for Thursday evening, I have not been down to EVO motorsports before for the regular GTG, however, if I recall correctly we all agreed to meet in one of the near by parking lots and caravan over? This will cetainly make a statement to the other car owners for sure! Also, I have an Audi Flag I can bring and hoist for a bit more show after we get lined up.

I welcome someone's input that has been down there before to propose a good time and nearby meeting spot as the initial rendezvous point before heading over to Evolution? I figured circa 7 p.m. Much appreciate someone assistig on this one.

Also, thanks to the running count by "DJvice" as it appears we have 16 committed Audi's for the 24 Aug Audidrive thus far, and about 5 tenative. Hopefully we will get more as the date gets closer. Once again, welcome suggestons for a dining spot someone can suggest along the route. I am more than willing to give them a shout to set up a reservation for the group. I guess my blog is long enough, look forward to seeing everyone on Thurs, and try and respond to this thread if you plan on attending. This way we can do an Audi count before heading over and not leave anyone out of the caravan.

I think that it would be cool if we met up at the In N Out on Scottsdale Rd and the 202 beforehand. It's right down the street from evolution, the parking lot is fairly big, and we can grab some burgers too.

I am good with the in and out lot, I am just worried about space? It there a Home Depot or Lowes close by? I figure they would have the space? I thnk 6:45 would be good to meet up and we could depart around 7:15. 30 minute buffer for folks to arrive. Let's keep the meeting spot open still, but not rule out in/out lot quite yet. .....

Thanks for starting this thread up Chris. As Alan mentioned, I think In-N-Out would be a great place for us to meet at 6:45pm. I have never been down to this location, but it looks fairly large from when I see it off the freeway. I'll take a drive down here tomorrow to check it out. I think Jimmy (SoEvoL) is coming the furthest (Avondale), so we can head down about 7:15? Will that give you enough time to get down here? I do want to see a "grand entrance," since its the first time there has every been any sort of Audi presence in Arizona.

Also, I'm looking forward to the BBQ at EvoMS. I hear its really really good. Do they have it every time, or only sometimes?

Alan...have you had a chance to look for a restaraunt that would hold all of us on 8/24? I kinda haven't been looking at all, hoping you would track a place down (since you came up with the route for the drive in the first place, hehehe). Let us know!

P.S. Chris...where the hell car I get an Audi flag? Thats awesome!!

No worries with getting the thread going :) It sounds like the In & Out Buger lot could work huh? Ok, until further notice....let's plan on meeting there at 6:45 pm. Oh, was thinking that those of you that are active on the other forums, i.e. AudiAZ etc., could cut and paste my post for wide dissem to the other Audifiles. Figure more is better right....so pass the word!

BTW got the Audi flag on Ebay a while back. Like the music on your Myspace page DJVice..may need you to burn me a copy :) See you all Thursday!

yea, ill be getting out of school, so ill be wearing my sweaty audi clothes, no time to go home and shower and head out, i wouldnt make it on time. I guess ill have to just spray axe and smell like a gym locker room and russian prostitutes.

I know that jimmy and andy have to drive from pretty far away. But let's all try to get to In n Out as early as we can.. We definitely want it to still be daylight out when we roll up to evolution. Know what i'm sayin

ha...no kiddin. I work out of El Paso, TX on Thursday. On this trip, I'm usually back in town by 8 pm, so thats why I'm leaving for TX at 11pm on Wednesday night...just to make sure I'm back in time for the meet.

I really want to go, but I never got my Audi registered here in az, so my insurance dropped the coupe. If I hadn't just moved into a house id get it registered and smogged this week. Im hoping i'll have the audi all legal for the upcoming drive.

Hey Guys, yeah very strong showing for the 4 Rings!! Sorry to bail with out saying "later", but the clouds were movin' in fast and was nervous the Coupe was gonna get pounded by the monsoon! Made into the garage just as the clouds opened! Wheew! Close one! Have some pics I will post, and look forward to the next GTG!

I had a great time. The rain on the way home sucked but I finally got to use my rear fog lights
