    engine or crank speed sensor?

Well for a while now my car has had some trouble starting. Its a 2001 a4 1.8T with 80k miles on it. So when I start it up it usually starts fine. Its usually only after I drive it, turn it off, then start it again within a few hours of driving it do the problems start. First it wont start up right away, it takes a couple of cranks. Then once it has started, there is an EPC light and sometimes a cel too. Now i've taken it to this german specialty shop a few times now but he never fixes it. He diagnosed it a fixed something to do with the cam adjustment? But i've been reading around and heard that these sensors can cause this shiz to be happening.

So im going to take it back to him and would like to know your opinions on what you think it is.

    Thanks a lot, Mike

Alright you sound pretty sure. It'll feel great to finally get this fixed.
    Thanks
