    Car bcuking & cutting in & out, part throttle ~3k rpm

    Hey guys. Car has been acting up. Intermittent issue, but gradually increasing how often. If cruising around 3k, and I add some gas but still light on throttle (not WOT) the car cuts out and starts bucking. If I floor it around 2800 or less, it builds boost very gradual and seems to have more lag. If cruising around 3500 and I floor it, it pulls pretty close to normal..

    Its the part throttle cutting in & out that concerns me. Can anyone help shed some light? I was thinking maybe a sensor like MAF or TPS...

    Have you logged it since this started? I'm just curious if it's misfires. I sure sounds like it.

    BTW, what plugs are you running and how old are your coils?

    Check your Throttle Body Boot, it could be leaking. Thats what happened to my car when mine blew.

    Samco makes a replacement, and APR has a Bi-Pipe.

    When it does the cutting in & out, yes. I get a little popping from the exhaust. Plugs are brand new Bosch side fires. No more than 3k on them or so. Coils I have no idea how old.. I never changed them. Got the car @ ~82k, have 104k now...

    On my 3rd OEM boot but its only a month or so old. Was already on my list to check anyway. Samco coming very soon...

    UN FREAKING BELIEVABLE!! ANOTHER TBB RIPPED!! This one only has like 4 weeks on it! And my 3rd one I ripped in a year! I say we start a petition to find the person who designed the TBB and pretend his legs are the bi pipes and rip him apart like a TBB!!

    Now I am in a pinch too cause I am sending back something to ECS and using it as credit towards the Samco TBB, so that won't get here for a few days, maybe a week, cause of shipping both ways.. This sucks..

    Sounds like you could use one "for the shelf", Endee. Guess you found the weak link in that brute of a car you've built.

    Its not only the TBB that is faulty, make sure the clamps you are using are updated as well. If the clamps pinch the tbb and you over tighten then you're going to have the same problem every time. Samco is definitely the way to go.
