Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well here's the story, my car has 136,000 Miles I bought it May 19th 2006 with 123,000K so I really Have only driven like 10,000K miles in 2 years. I already got my Tbelt kit I am now looking at Clutches and flywheels.

I ran across one called "Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel" Does anyone know if they are a reputable company?

    **INFO**
Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel Audi A4 97-99

Fidanza aluminum flywheels are made from the highest quality 6061 T6 aluminum. The material is fantastic for strength, heat dissipation and of course reduction in weight. The friction surface used is an incredibly strong 1050 steel. The plates are milled to meet Fidanza's high specifications. A Fidanza flywheel can mate with any type of clutch material, including organic, kevlar, ceramic, metallic and sintered iron. Fidanza attaches the friction surface with military grade aerospace fasteners. The ring gears used are also made from 1050 steel and are heat treated for durability. The gears are heated then pressed on and secured with grade 8 button screws. Fidanza was the first to utilize a stepped dowel system in most of their flywheel applications. This doweling method ensures that once the pressure plate is installed the dowels cannot be removed because they become locked into place. No chromemoly can compete with the awesome serviceability, strength and superior design of Fidanza's aluminum flywheels.

    Flywheel weight: 10lbs

    Engine: 1.8L

Thats a really light FW.. your going to get a ton of chatter on that.....

I have a SPEC flywheel, 16lbs, and I still get some chatter, but its livable.. Its way lighter than stock, and I wouldnt go any lighter on a daily driver personally..

    give Mike-2ptzero a pm.. he's got a good deal on a clutch/fw kit

The fidanza is closer to 9 lbs. Not too much chatter on my friends car. Only with the ac on can you hear it past the exhaust. Whats the big deal with chatter anyways?

Re: Anyone got info on Fidanza

the fidanza does not have a recess for the flywheel bolts so the sprung hub will not fit. The solid hub is dome shaped to accomodate this. If you want a LWFW and a sprung disk then get the AWE one. Its pricey, but you got to pay to play.
