    Tires shot... Help? (+PICS)

    Hey guys!

I've bought a set of Toyo TR-1 tires (245/35-19) for my A4 with VMR RS4 reps.

Recently, I did a *hard* run up and down a local mountain (160mi total) with many many many high and low speed turns. As a result, my tires are now shot.

Now I hear you say "well 'doh" already, but hear me out...

Please see the collection of pictures below. The tires still have *plenty* of tread in the center of the tire. However, the outside edges are completely toast. The rear looks better than the front, but also not great. You'll also notice that the front tires seem "rounded off"

    Two questions:

    1) What may have caused this (camber wrong? rubbing?)??

    2) Are the front tires still save to drive?

looks like an alignment issue. excessive wear on the outside of a tire usually means you have too much 'toe-in'. i don't think its a camber isssue just because the front wheels camber is non adjustable, so the only camber wear that would happen would be on the inner edge of the tires due to negative camber; positive camber will not occur unless for some ungodly reason, you put a skyjacker 6" lift on your a4.

Looks more like your rubbing or making contact with your fender. A lot of times you can't hear it (stereo loud). Alignment would cause the wear to be that localized (looks like a 1 inch band around the whole tire). Alignment will make it wear like a cone and I doubt you'd get that much wear in 160mi unless it war way out.
