hey wats goin on everyone im new to s4 scence but ive had vw/audi my whole life and a a4 for quite some time, that being said i jus picked up this 01.5 nogaro blue s4. no cel 100k even. clutch, tb, wp,axles, brakes, wheel bearing ect all just been done never been chipped and turbos make no abnormal noise. Anyways i took the car to a local s4 guy and he drove it and was doing some loggs and said the car was pulling about 15 degrees of timing. wat can cause this with no cel? also ive noticed it uses ALOT of fuel jus driving normal. he mentioned plugs but p.o. said they were replaced about 10k ago. plse help me out so it doesnt cost me 200 bux a week to drive this back and forth to work like it did last week! thanks guys

    EGTs, 02 sensors, leaks. etc.

have the car vag'ed by a reputable shop and see if they can see any issues with these sensors.

Quite often there will be fault codes stored in the ECU without having a CEL.

Definitely have someone with a VAG com check for codes for you.
I would say the same as JDM, either EGT sensor, O2 sensor, boost leak, or possibly fouled plugs. If they are copper plugs, then you're overdue for a plug change.

How did he determine that (which blocks did he log)?

    Re: pulling timing....?

if the computer was reading a lean condition from a bad 02 sensor it would indeed probably pull timing

gahh.. i cant stand some people that act like they know what theyre doing.. i mean i dont know everythhing but im not gonna stand here and tell you NO its not the problem or YES it is.

vag-com blocks 020 (cyls 1-4) and 021 (cyls 5,6) show you 'correction factors' which is timing retard.
