    Adaptive lighting-Switch off ??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
hello there...I seem to have a problem with adaptive lighting in my Bi-Xenons.
Whenever I have the lights on, eg at night, and I go for a fast ride and turn hard, the system seems unable to keep up and turns up a signal after some curves, that shows me that the system is off. then the lights keep being turned on, but simply dont adjust, which is fine with me, but I still have the failure signal on, which is pretty annoying, so I have to turn car off and then back on so as to erase it...
The thing I'd like to do is turn the system off, so as not to bother me again while driving...I tried that via vag-Com but couldnt find something in the control modules...

If anyone could help me, I would very much appreciate it...

    Thanks

it's probably because you are lowered? I think you can VAGcom off the adaptive headlights.

I know on the GTIs that lowering can cause the auto-leveling feature to freak out and twitch occasionally.

I never thought this could cause a problem...
However it starts only when I turn hard, immediately on the first two corners(the lights on)

    Re: Adaptive lighting-Switch off ??

i doubt its the lowering, there are mechanical sensors attached to the a-arms that sense movement of the suspension, when the suspension compresses, the sensor sends a signal to the motors in the headlamp to lower as to not dazzle oncoming motorists, and vise versa...as for turning, there is a similar sensor but i dont see how lowering would affect the turning part because you still have a full turning radius, no matter what your ride height is. and are you getting the actual indicator in the dash for the dynamic headlight function? if thats the case there is some kind of mechanical error with the sensors and/or motors. i suggest looking near the sensors and seeing if anything is damaged first. hope this helps!

Your headlight assembly may be loose creating vibrations which is throwing the sensors off. I had the same problem, took it to the dealer they just tightened the headlights under warranty. I believe Audi put out a TSB for this issue. See if your headlight cut-off on the wall at 7 feet away seems to vibrate, that was my indication of a loose headlight assembly.

yeah even with the headlight fully tightened, i still noticed the cutoff line "jittering" at very low speeds like when the engine is trying, a driveway for example, its just a poor mounting design for the headlight, for me i just wedged some sockets between the top of the headlight and the frame, and no more vibrations!
