Hi guys I've got a question, have any of you ever heard of dimpled and slotted rotors causing noise when you drive and/or brake?
I recently purchased a set of dimpled and slotted rotors and pads and had them installed (along with new suspension) and now when I drive I can hear this constant clicking sound (almost like a cricket) coming from all four wheels. I can only hear it when I have the windows down and am driving near something so the sound reflects back. The clicking sound increases when I increase speed and really increases when I brake.
I've taken the car back to the shop where I got everything installed and they've disassembled and reassembled the brakes, suspension and even the USP bumper I just had put on but nothing fixed it. They think it might be sound coming from the dimples on the rotors.
Has anyone ever come across something like this? The rotors were made to OEM spec for a B6 A4 and unfortunately I can't remember the brand of pads. They weren't high performance, just something with low brake dust.
Any help would be much appreciated, I'd really rather not have to buy a whole new set of rotors and get them reinstalled. Especially not when I don't even know if that's the real problem.
Thanks!!
