    Exhaust options please...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm looking to swap out my current exhaust set-up, my UUC VM3, it's just too loud with the Labree dp and test pipe.
Once boost kicks in, it sounds like i'm 2steppin it..... I'm looking for something less loud and deeper/smooth in sound.
Thinking about Techtonics Tuning dual 2.5 exhaust with Borla. I have one my supercharged jetta and i luv the way it sounds.

Does anyone have any experence with TT or a sound clip? Will have any problems mating it to my labree set-up?

    Any other exhaust reconmendations?

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: Exhaust options please...

I think Vibrant would be too quite for him coming from UUC... Get Miltek if anything.

Check out JHM, he sells the Techtonics kits:

edit: he's got sound clips of this system, and there's a bunch others on YouTube as well...

I personally don't own it, but I've looked into the Autospeed TruDual 225 and it looks pretty good.

    Re: Exhaust options please...

BITRBO, thanks for the link, the sound clip they had was nice and clear compared to some i've heard. Got a really good idea how the TT will sound.. I think i like...

I looked at the ASP one online and it looks nice, but I like the TT one due to the fact it's 2.5 all the way through and not 2.25.

dual 2.25 is plenty even for stage 3+, but going bigger cannot hurt! plus i havent seen too many techtonics S4s, way to be different!

    Re: Exhaust options please...

    Re: Exhaust options please...

search, also you wont want to use the stock exhaust with k04s. it will create tons of backpressure and limit your power. this backpressure with time can lessen hte life of your turbos. i assume you're running a decent tune if you have upgraded turbos, and a single 2.25inch exhaust for 6 cylinders and 2 turbos is insuffifcient. dish out some $ and buy a milltek or Vibrant if you want quiet

    Re: Exhaust options please...

i say you guys get the muffler that you want and do two hi flow cats into 3" after that then muffler tip. I ordered the muffler i wanted from aero and took it to meinke and had them bend the pipe and weld it up it wasnt a quater of what youd spend on the cat back alone.

    Re: Exhaust options please...

well, looks like my search for a new exhaust might come to a halt.....
Something came up and it looks like i might have to sell the S i just bought....
Hopefully not, but i'll find out soon enough

Here's the add i've been working on if anyone is interested. Parden the misspelling since this is a draft...

    Matinace: (500miles ago)
Control arms kit (from PureMS), 2 axles fr (new, not rebuilt), Full Tune-up: Coolant flush, Platinum plugs, Cabin filter, AfterRun coolant sensor (OEM), oil change.
