Rattle from Cargo cover screen?

This is for Avant owners. I can't be the only one with this problem.

My new Avant seems to have developed a metallic rattle emanating from either the right rear seat belt area, or maybe the cargo screen or cover. Seems when I try to source the problem, and pull up on the cargo screen, the mechanism is very "metallic" in sound and very loose. I am guessing that is the source, but have not been able to get it to stop.

Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

Is the seat not complete latched? I've read a few complaints of the latch mechanism not being completely tight and rattles. I had that issue on my previous MK4 GTI but not on the Avant though.

I had this happen to me the other day. I lowered the seats and then put them back up.........problem solved

Turned out to be the cover screen thing. I just took the whole thing out (doubt I would ever use it) and the rattle is GONE!! What a POS that they would have such a noisy mechanism in there.

Glad you've worked out the problem. To be honest, my avant is the quietest car I've ever owned, no noises or rattles anywhere.
