Please comment on their installation and their fitment. Do they fit perfectly or do they push out the bumper on the sides ? How would you rate their fitment on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being a perfect fit ? TIA.

FWIU, cutting of the radiator support and fender is required, but not cutting of the bumper cover as in RS4 ICs.

Bumper fits perfectly for me. Like said, you do have to cut the radiator support and fender, but not the bumper and nothing that makes it noticable. In fact, I was at a German car GTG over the weekend and everyone thought my car was stock. lol

bumper fitment is 100%... there wasn't cutting.... only shaving down of the bumper support bracket on driver side.... i didnt do it though Greg (SSP TUNING) did, and he's done them before, made them fit perfect

Re: Need opinions from all AWE SMIC owners with OEM S4 front bumpers, TIA.

I just did this install yesterday!
Yes the radiator support and the fender "wing" supports have to be cut. They don't tell you to but the right side fender support needs a trim too. Make sure you prime/paint it after. The radiator support is plastic so no worries there. I used a sawzall with a metal cutting blade and it went easily. Just look for wires before you cut. While fitting the bumper, I also had to trim the inner reinforcement of the left side bumper to clear the new duct. I also ran into a snag that AWE hadn't heard of before. I have a tip and in the rear of the stock left IC there is a tranny oil cooler bolted to it. the instructions didn't mention it. I called and they said S4's don't have those. Mine does! Anyway I used several tie wraps and a strip of rubber to mount it to the stock upper IC mount since it isn't used anymore. I drilled a couple holes in the lower IC mount to add more ties. I used heat resistant ones and doubled them up in case of a failure. It's not that hard of a job to do. Fitment rating: 9. Good luck.

had to cut a little on mine but such an easy install compared to rs4 which require a lot more cutting and struggling.

My drivers side sticks out. Can't get the bumper to fit correctly. I have to replace the bumper anyways so I'm not worried about it until I get the new one.

On K04s without alcohol injection your IATs will rise 15-20*F running 24/25 psi on BW K04s. On other turbos I have seen temps go up as much as 30*F, meaning the turbos are probably running out of their efficiency range blowing hot air. I would say if you're running a setup making 500WHP/600+ flywheel horsepower, I'd look into larger SMICs like ER's, or go with a good FMIC.

If you run alcohol injection on the setup, you'll be more than okay as the AWE's have a great ability to recover quickly. I have big meth nozzles on my car and I have flat lined IATs, if not dropping sometimes. I'm about to get rid of the AWE's and go to ER's, for sake of wanting even better cooling.
