I'm wanting to upgrade the turbos on my `01 A6 2.7. I talked with a guy at IPT and he was telling me RS6 turbos would work on my cay, but I can't seem to find anything about the setup. Anyone have any info on these bad mothas? Why go stage 3 when there's an option for 4?

The turbos from the RS6 won't just bolt up to the 2.7T. You would need to take a set of K04s and swap some of the parts over to the RS6 turbos to make them bolt on to your manifolds. This is what is referred to as RS6 "hybrids". The problem that has plagued these hybrid turbos is that many of the places that have made them did not do a good job of balancing them and checking clearances and many have failed prematurely. As Clint mentioned, there are a few shops selling kits but, I'm pretty happy with my K04's.

BTW, since you mentioned IPT, I'm assuming that you have a tiptronic car. You should talk to IPT about what you will need for your tranny to hold the power from these larger turbo kits. The stock transmission will not hold up at those power levels.

Hey Daft, is your AR tip? How does your tranny hold up to the power?
