REALLY annoying vibration coming from my instrument cluster?

Hey all, I tried to do a few searches on this but came up empty. I am experiencing the most annoying vibration sound ever on my 08 A4. It seems to be coming from the gauge cluster area, and I notice it whenever I accelerate at certain RPMs (which rattle it just right I guess) for me to hear it. I can also reproduce the sound when banging on the curved portion of the dash over the gauges. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Its driving me insane to the point where I can barely stand driving the car anymore.

Yea, I just know they are going to "not be able to reproduce" the sound.

Plus I dont want these f@gs to wash my car again. They scratched it last time and I called them on it and they said theyd buff it out for me.

I had this too. Try moving the wheel up or down a tad thats what the service guy told me. It helped for a bit

did you recently install a new suspension? I know that when I had my coilovers installed my fuse box area started to vibrate a little. It sounded like a springy rattle. I opened up the fuse box door and pushed all those suckers in there as good and tight as I could. That seemed to help alleviate the sound. At first I wasn't sure where it was coming from. It was somewhere close to the instrument cluster. That's all I knew. So in short, check your fuse box for loose fuses.

Car is totally stock, but yea thats EXACTLY what it sounds like. Little springy sound. So goddamn annoying. Ill check the fuses tomorrow.

I had the same problem. Its an annoying buzzing noise that happens right around 2000-2100 rpm right? took it to my friends over at audi manhattan and they tried to convince me that it was caused by my forge dv. (they also gave me a bill for 30 minutes labor because of that fact...which I was able to make them squash...bastards!). anyways they alleviated the problem by removing the lower panel below the steering wheel and simply refastening it. however, about a week or so later the problem came back! I am going to try and insulate the panel sometime this weekend and hope that it fixes the problem for good. (I think the sound is coming from the panel rubbing on the bracketry behind it). ill keep you guys posted.

I fixed it!

On WxGuy's advice I checked the fuses. While that wasnt the problem I decided to poke around in there while the cover was off.

I banged on the dash with the cover off and just touched various things in there to see if the sound stopped. There is a black metal bracket in there that is supposed to be pressed together but vibrates a TINY bit. I just messed with it a bit and the sound stopped.

Try it out.

Sorry to bring this thread back but I'm getting the same rattle. Ive taken the car in twice now and still the rattle is there. Is there a helms manual that I can purchase that shows how to take the cover off? or a write up anywhere online? My car only has 4500 miles on it and im at the point that I want to trade it in

Any info would be much appreciated.
