oil light question

today i got the oil light that says min next to it. i assume this means low oil, and the dipstick confirms that my oil is low. i know this is a rookie question, but do i need to add oil or do i need to change my oil? is it bad if i drive another 30 or so miles with this light on?

It means add.

Check the oil level. It's not recommended, but you could get away with it. I recommend picking up a quart of oil though.

get some oil, dont want to run for long period of times with low oil. It also depends how oil the levels are. Dont drive to aggressive till you add oil.

Check for leaks...for a reason why oil is low

I think our cars use mobil or castro 5w30 synthetic, but call your local dealer and ask what they use.

funny you post this thread .. I just had the same thing happen to me. I always carry a quart of Oil just in case. so it worked out ... but now time to schedule a oil change!
